A team of Global Track students has won the top prize in the Retro-Fit "Bringing Modularity to Balconies" competition. The team was made up of students Dong Cao, Yaning Zhang, Ming Xu, and Zaw Latt.
The design proposed a modular system of balconies that could be added onto existing housing structures in Singapore. The students envision the balconies to be available through an uber-like ordering system. Home owners would be able to order various configurations and programming to meet their various needs for the extended space.
The competition win continues a strong streak of Global Track student successes in competitions and publications. In the last year GT students have had six project entries receive awards, and had five entries featured in print publications.
