GT Students Visit Shanghai Urban Planning Museum

With their shiny new Tongji Student ID cards in hand, members of our Global Track Cohort took advantage of their student discount and visited the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Center to learn more about Shanghai's development and projected future.

The exhibition center is a six story building in People's Square and in addition to interactive exhibits about the planning and development of urban Shanghai, the museum features one of the world's largest scale models. A 1:500 scale model of Urban Shanghai encompasses 17,000 square feet.

The visit was a great way for students to familiarize themselves with their new city from a planning and development standpoint. Our GT8 students highly recommend it to anyone in Shanghai with an interest in architecture or urban planning.
