GT15's Journey at Tongji University Begins

Sep 17
1 min read

The semester for GT15 officially kicked off in Shanghai with the first studio session of the cohort at Tongji University, marking a new chapter of academic exchange and design exploration within the Global Track program.

The opening studio was a collaboration between Tongji University professors Liu Kan and Hua Xiahong and University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa professor Ben Parker. Their collaboration immerses students in a semester of research, discussion and architectural inquiry based on the urban and cultural setting of Shanghai.

As the semester begins, GT15 will continue to build on the Global Track’s emphasis on international collaboration, cross-cultural learning, and design research, using Shanghai as both a classroom and a site for architectural inquiry.
