GT15's Journey Begins

From Hawaiʻi to New York City, the GT15 cohort completed their summer practicum at Perkins Eastman, where they acquired firsthand experience in a dynamic professional design setting. As they moved from the classroom to real-world practice, the students had the chance to collaborate with industry experts, participate in active projects, and deepen their understanding of architectural practice in New York.

At the midpoint of the internship, GT15 participated in a midterm pin-up with the other New York interns, where they showcased their work and received feedback from architects throughout the office. The group also engaged in a citywide scavenger hunt, exploring Manhattan and visiting completed Perkins Eastman projects along the route.

Outside the office, the summer allowed students to explore New York's neighborhoods, architecture, landmarks, and culture. The practicum offered a chance for professional development, exploration, and a better grasp of how design transitions from the studio to practice.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Perkins Eastman for hosting GT15 and offering such a meaningful summer experience.
